A mesothelioma is diagnosed and confirmed through a biopsy. Your doctor will look for cancerous mesothelioma cells in your chest or abdomen if you have symptoms that indicate mesothelioma and a history of asbestos exposure. If you have signs or symptoms that might indicate mesothelioma, your doctor will conduct a physical exam to check for any potential lumps or other unusual signs. He will advise for imaging scans e.g. chest X-ray, blood teats, or CT scans.
