Google uses a feature called location history to track your location for personalised services, local search and other purposes such as advertising. Google automatically stops recording your location for features e.g the Maps timeline whenever you turn off location history, Google . However, google warns you that “some location data may be saved as part of your activity on other Google services, like Search and Maps”. To prevent google from tracking you, you need to turn off the “Web & App Activity”.
Doing so on an Android device iill involve the following steps:
1-Go to setting
2-Click on Google, then Google your google Account
3-Click on the data & personalisation tab and then on web & app Activity
4-Put the Web & App Activity off
To turn off location history on google:
1-Go to the Data & personalisation tab
2-Click on location history and change the setting off for each phone or device connected to your Google account
Please note that: Google has confirmed its ability to track the location of Android users via the addresses of local mobile phone masts even when the location services are turned off and the sim cards removed to protect privacy.
