The Corona virus pandemic and the resulting economic meltdown are negatively affecting many people’s lives and mental health. The pandemic has been a cause for isolation to many families and friends most especially created new barriers for people with mental disabilities and substance use. In a recent poll conducted in the United States, about 45% of adults reported that their mental health have been impacted negatively due to stress and worrying over the virus.

Measures taken to slow the spread of the corona virus, e.g.social distancing, school closures, business shutdown and closures, job losses etc have led to greater isolation and greater financial stress and anxiety about what the future holds.
